Rules of Play

Events will be played under USCA Championship rules, the spirit of curling, rules of the host club, and the following:

Eligibility: As stated in Eligibility section.

Substitution: Substitution will be permitted during a game if a player cannot continue because of injury or emergency and an eligible player is available. Eligible sutbsitutes are the fifth player designated on a team's original entry form. Teams may continue play with three players. Players from other teams may not be used as substitutes unless unusual circumstances exist, in which case the chairperson would be consulted and make the final decisions. All substitutes must play lead.

Games will be eight ends (unless time is a limiting factor - chairperson will announce).

Coin toss will determine hammer and color selection.

Free guard zone unless both skips agree otherwise.

Teams do their own measuring, but can call on event host for assistance.

Schedules are predetermined using numerical team designations. Teams will draw for number prior to play, or based on experience within division.

Late arrival (10 minutes) for a start of game: docked 1 end and forfeit 1 point for each 10 minute interval.

Winning team sweeps the ice (unless chairperson deems otherwise).

Winning skip reports score to event score master.

NOTE: EVENTS ARE NON-ALCOHOLIC. ENTRY FEES ARE FORFEITED IF A TEAM DOES NOT SHOW UP FOR AN EVENT, FOR ANY REASON.
